Aroview: A “haunted house” movie with a difference, this is an intense, thinking person’s spook session involving a team of tradesmen hired to clean up a long-abandoned mental hospital…

Though not resolved entirely satisfactorily, this is a constantly fascinating journey into fear, with a welcome balance of character study and nightmare elements, eerily enhanced by the no-frills digital video look. Also distinctive is the superb real location (in Massachusetts) and the mostly daylight setting, plus a uniformly strong and interesting cast (incl. the much-maligned David Caruso).
