Aroview: Two excellent and groundbreaking tele-movies from the early 70s starring Darren McGavin as wise-cracking 'regular guy' reporter Carl Kolchak. This led eventually to a whole season of mysteries for the character to solve. Both scripts were penned by cult writer Richard Matheson.
The Night Stalker (1972) - Dir. John Llewellyn Moxey - Kolchak investigates the vicious murder of a Las Vegas showgirl, which seems to involve a supernatural perpetrator.
The Night Strangler (1973) - Dir. Dan Curtis - Further murders, this time in Seattle, trigger the curiosity of Kolchak in a case of more serial killings.
