Aroview: Ray Liotta is typically compelling as an unrepentant sociopath on 'death row', who, in return for his life, agrees to become a guinea pig in a chemical behavioral modification experiment being run by Dafoe.

Refreshingly avoiding the expected story twists, the treatment finds Liotta gradually settling down to a job in the Mid-West washing cars, peril eventually arriving in the form of past enemies seeking retribution. Although containing a few unconvincing developments, this impresses for some sturdy action scenes, and most of all for its unexpected committment to its characters.
