Puckoon
Aroview: A flawed but unique adaptation of Spike Milligan's 1963 satirical novel set on the troubled borders of Northern Ireland in the 1920s.
With a plot involving gun-smuggling, substitute coffins and a national boundary line that somehow gets drawn down the middle of the town of Puckoon, inconveniently between their houses and outdoor privvies, this is vintage Milligan. Unable to really quite capture the special quality of necessary lunacy, this still has enough conviction behind it to be worthwhile.
