Dead Birds

Aroview: After a botched bank robbery during the American Civil War, a group of Confederate outlaws hole up in an abandoned plantation, finding themselves the prey of supernatural forces.

With an historical setting that adds considerable atmosphere, this modestly original horror notches up the heebie-jeebies with convincing gore and shocks, as sharp-toothed demons emerge from the genteel woodwork of the isolated mansion. Certainly a highly promising debut for its director.
