Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Aroview: Ambitious futuristic 'boys own' adventure sets up a scenario in which giant robots are attacking Earth in a 1930s retro-futuristic world of daredevil pilots, comicbook cityscapes and wisecracking heroines.

Law plays 'Sky Captain', who hooks up with reporter Paltrow as they attempt to get behind the invasion, discovering a plot involving kidnapped scientists, the fabled city of Shangri-La and dangerous meglomaniac Dr. Totenkopf (Olivier). In fact an independent film developed from an impressive short animation which caught the producer's attention, this manages to stay uncorrupted from its particular vision, with the backgrounds in virtually every shot painstaking efforts of CGI animation.
