American Film Theatre - Luther

Aroview: Although receiving a somewhat muted reaction when originally released, this American Film Theatre production is a worthy adaptation of John Osborne's stageplay about the father of the Reformation, who in the 16th century instigated the first of the Protestant Christian movements.

Keach gives a subdued though diligent performance in the lead, while the rest of the cast allow Osborne's lines a dignified delivery, especially a young Judi Dench.
