Aroview: A self-amused Smith headlines this Manhattan comedy, as professional matchmaker who 'hitches' couples back together in faltering romances.

In his toughest case yet Smith must help a straight-laced schlub (James) toward his longterm object of desire, while himself developing a personal side-venture with gossip-columnist Eva Mendes. Invoking to some degree the characters of Woody Allen, this is of course far glossier, yet still rounded with an amiable humanism and a relaxed ensemble cast.
