I don't get it (obviously) but it feels so vital and poetically cryptic that it becomes a really moving experience. From the ace directing to the brilliant score, Carruth is some sort of genius.
Although the editing was sharp, the overdubbed drums that didn't quite sync up with the acting meant I was never drawn into the drama – or the action (disclaimer: I'm a drummer!). Minor details but when you're so up–close–and–personal, the details matt
That chemistry! Hard (impossible?) to find any faults with DDL and Watson is great too. A powerful film that doesn't quite sustain its grip, but is a solid watch nonetheless.
Caught me completely off guard. Never has a movie made me grieve before. Beautifully patient and powerful, with carefully crafted images and characters.
