Upstream Color
“[An] elliptical and utterly fascinating adventure in cinema, one that defies simple explanations, but worms its way into the brain.”~Newsday
Aroview: Shane Carruth follows up his cult time travel indie PRIMER with this immersive and abstract tale of two strangers whose lives are intertwined by a mysterious organism.
Best to abandon expectations of a compelling narrative thread in order to maximise potential enjoyment of its other sensory pleasures. As well as playing one of the lead roles, the polymathic Carruth also wrote, directed, produced, photographed, co-edited and composed the score for this film.

5 stars (Exceptional) I don't get it (obviously) but it feels so vital and poetically cryptic that it becomes a really moving experience. From the ace directing to the brilliant score, Carruth is some sort of genius. ~MatPat
4 stars (Very Good) Beautiful & fascinating movie. Not as confusing as Primer, but that's like saying "sexier than tinnitus" ~Truant
