Bet, The (2007)
The screenplay has little new material. The characters deserve each other and do not resemble a typical Australian – one actually plays polo.
Kinky Boots (2005)
The screenplay handles the sweet better than the bitter and although it takes a dip it does recover for the end.
Fifth Estate, The (5ifth Estate, The) (2013)
A reasonable addition to the WikiLeaks genre.
Four Musketeers, The (1973)
The comedy plot idea is getting a bit stale by this stage but there is enough character in the casting to maintain the interest.
Eight Men Out (1989)
The screenplay was solid and the story, interesting. Enjoyed the period details for e.g. the advertising hoardings at the ballpark.
Guru, The (2002)
The screenplay gets a bit soppy at times but the soundtrack and musical segments are worthwhile.
Gorky Park (1983)
A decent screenplay but William Hurt wasn't convincing. However, there were other performances that helped compensate.- DVD
$20 $15
Fly, The (1986)
A genuine horror. Terrific work by the makeup and special effects departments.
Stigmata (1999)
Arquette, Byrne, and Pryce is a decent cast. Not a memorable screenplay but it did burn up the screen.
Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)
Not a bad comedy plot idea and is still watchable 55 years on.
