Road To Perdition (2002): It takes its time which causes the screenplay to be a bit flat but the set designs rate 10 out of 10.
Goodnight Mommy (Ich seh ich seh) (2014): If it had shown a bit more restraint by having fewer torture scenes it would have been a better film. Having said that the plot idea is worthy of attention.
Queen of Katwe, The (2016): Well produced if a bit overlong. The screenplay is interesting and the photography brings out the best in the colours – particularly in the costumes.
Edge of Heaven, The (Auf der anderen Seite) (2007)
Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong (2015): A stroll around Hong Kong.
Swordfish (2001): The only real interest for me was Vinnie Jones in one of his early roles lurking in the background frustrated with little to do.
Mulan (1998): A very good storyline whose telling is enhanced by the animation.
Table 19 (2017): It is a good plot idea and has the cast to carry it out and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
X-Men (2000): Competently and compactly made and should attract the uninitiated to the franchise.
Heat (1995): Although overlong it is very well written except the gun fight scene is over the top and just gets silly. Some good performances all round and throughout.
