Interview, The (2014): As a black comedy – the hardest in the genre to do – it doesn't work.
Yellow Handkerchief, The (2008): A reasonable screenplay enhanced by Hurt's performance in particular.
Up in the Air (2009): The intelligent screenplay is at its best when Clooney and Kendrick are together although the small segment with JK Simmons is a gem. The film however climaxes too early and the final scenes lack steam.
Animals (2014): An unglamorous dramatisation that should deter rather than encourage drug taking.
Oscar and Lucinda (1998): Great to look at and a talented cast but not for the first time have I found this film failing to hold the attention.
Clinic, The (2010): Its okay but it doesn't really break any new ground – except for the odd grave or two.
Auggie Rose (2000): It is at all times watchable without being anything special.
Peanuts Movie, The (2015): With much loved characters like these how can it possibly fail?
Truth (2015): Cate does well however the screenplay is described as a drama and so you don't know if what you are being told is the truth or not which makes the whole exercise pointless. Truth or not the ending is crap.
Legend of Barney Thomson, The (2015): Although the screenplay weakens out and gets a bit over silly the performances of Emma T (outstanding), Carlyle, Winstone and Courtenay(in a small role) are well worth the time.
