Three Musketeers, The (1948)
As a light retelling of the story it fails in comparison to the Richard Lester 1973 version. It is a bit long but Lana Turner enjoys herself and Vincent Price who does these kind of films in his sleep adds much needed interest to the characters.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999)
The tunes are bland but at least as a performance it is not too long.
Blood for Dracula (1974)
Not great but there is an underlying comedy theme which helps but the real difference is Kier – he lifts everything by a notch.
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
Wouldn't have minded seeing a bit more of Jonathan Pryce but overall the characters were thin and uninteresting and the performances particularly from Pacino too hysterical.
Piaf: Her Story... Her Songs (2003)
Its a format which works well in this case – a combination of documentary and musical numbers (Raquel has a great Piaf voice).
My Sister Eileen (1955)
The screenplay padding with Lemmon doesn't amount to much but there are a couple of very good dance numbers.
Fast and the Furious, The (2001)
Extremely exciting – it has set a pretty high standard for drag racing films.
Spirit of St. Louis (1957)
The production values are very good but it is a pity it takes so long – and unfortunately there is no suspense because we all know how the story ends.
Queen of the Desert (2015)
A condensing of the story telling may have helped – it may have had a sheik too many & the love interest wasn't really needed. Pattinson didn't look anything like Peter O'Toole. The saving grace was the gorgeous photography especially of the deserts.
Red Sonja (1985)
Pulpy and harmless – its not too long and its worth the time especially as a curiosity piece. The ladies have centre stage for once.
