Advanced Style (2014)
"Young @ Heart" in rags. Its not as bad as it looks – its funnier than a lot of comedies thanks to the infectious Joie de vivre of these old ducks.
Magnificent Seven, The (2016)
All this remake did was remind me of how old I am. I can't recall what the body count was in 1960 but I wouldn't mind betting that this one's main objective was to better it.
Premonition (2007)
Sandra struggles a bit in this – the whole venture suffers and is a bit disjointed. Kate Nelligan in support is a very good actress and she looked a bit confused as well.
Stick (1985)
You could have done a lot worse than this cast so overall the film should have delivered more than it did.
Concussion (2015)
A documentary would have served this worthy subject better and then we wouldn't have had to put up with Smith's terrible accent.
Minions (2015)
Excellent but more importantly very different characters add to its appeal.
Regression, The (2015)
A reasonable plot idea but its hard to stand out in this crowded sub genre.
Vixen (1968)
Although its very dated 50 years on it is still a worthy curiosity piece and is wonderfully racist.
Songs from the Second Floor (2000)
One thing I learnt watching the films of one of the masters of visual comedy – Jacques Tati – was that it was necessary to pay attention to the little things and to those particularly in the background of a scene. Its likewise with this film.
Coming Out Under Fire (1994)
One of the writers is the author of the book on which the documentary is based. I haven't read the book but I would say the documentary complements it very well and is an important social history document.
