DogmaDogma (1999)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) When you have one performer with recognised class – in this case, Alan Rickman – it is interesting to compare the rest of the performers against him. The screenplay is a bit hit and miss but interesting enough.
Daughters of the DustDaughters of the Dust (1991)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) There seems to be little in the way of a normal conversation between the characters – more speechmaking. Beautifully photographed.
Harry and the HendersonsHarry and the Hendersons (1987)
3 stars (Good Enough) For the most part, it is a decent comedy despite the screaming kid.
Heat and DustHeat and Dust (1982)
3 stars (Good Enough) Very well produced but the screenplay is long and may need patience. Great soundtrack.
Ginger SnapsGinger Snaps (2000)
3 stars (Good Enough) Familiar but a little bit better than a lot of other similar screenplays.
Cedar BoysCedar Boys (2009)
3 stars (Good Enough) Although it doesn't break new ground the screenplay commendably doesn't glamorise.
EvelynEvelyn (2002)
3 stars (Good Enough) A very interesting story with a more than useful cast. There is some melodrama but it is manageable.
Place in the Sun, APlace in the Sun, A (1951)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) The plot idea is as old as the hills and although the screenplay is probably correctly paced for time and place it needs patience.
A Change of SeasonsA Change of Seasons (1980)
2 stars (Good Try) MacLaine and Hopkins wasted.
Battle of Shaker Heights, TheBattle of Shaker Heights, The (2003)
2 stars (Good Try) Shia's character is a bit of a pain but the screenplay is not too bad.
