Miss You Already (2015)
An interesting mix of a cast. This bitter sweet screenplay would not have worked without very careful direction – it must have been borderline at times – particularly at the end but it wasn't dragged out too long.
Mansfield Park (1999)
As expected the set designs, wardrobe and performances are spot on. The screenplay adaptation is interesting and has a real crack at the British involvement in the slave trade – well done for that.
Born to Dance (2015)
The screenplay has all been done before several times and the cast, particularly the male lead, haven't been selected for their acting ability so I would have just made a dance documentary instead.
Fathers and Daughters (2015)
Another uplifting story about a medical condition but Amanda is as usual watchable.
Keanu (2016)
A passable action comedy from another odd ball pairing – at least the kitten scenario was fresh.
Good People (2014)
Not a particularly original screenplay but the quality of the casting makes it worthwhile.
Stop-Loss (2008)
The screenplay suggests the film had worthwhile intentions and was not made just for commercial reasons. Although Tatum and Phillippe are never going to set the screen alight they give passable performances in this one.
Independent, The (2000)
It crams quite a bit into 80 mins. – not all of it works but I suspect its one of those films that will stand repeated viewings and where you can pick up stuff you missed before.
Nightmare on Elm Street, A (2010)
They've admitted to running out of fresh ideas in this genre by recycling the originals.
Shallows, The (2016)
Mind bending originality in the screenplay.
