Camille (1937)
Garbo and Daniell do very well – Taylor a bit out of his class. A watchable melodrama.
Pearl Harbour (2001)
Far too long and very boring. Could be used as a punishment.
We Own the Night (2007)
The early "Heart of Glass" scene is the best but it doesn't really work after that and its hard to work out why it doesn't.
Roger Waters: The Wall (2014)
Multi award winner for its stage production and you can see why. Building walls around ourselves and our possessions is the Message here & it applies to all of us from common people to presidents.
Contraband (2012)
Routine actioner – the only real interest was in the casting against type of J.K Simmons.
Noma: My Perfect Storm (2015)
I thought we had run out of cooks and restaurants to make documentaries about. This one is a bit different though through its use of colourful language which would be more appropriate in a fish and chip shop.
Undefeated (2011)
Reasonably interesting but not too different from other underdog sports documentaries.
Teahouse of the August Moon, The (1956)
Provided it didn't upset the Japanese nation the screenplay is good & script humorous.Morgan is underused but this is Paul Ford's film – his character is not overexposed but has enough screen time to display some endearing behaviour of the officer class
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)
The film is great to look at (with the street scenes outstanding) but by having an excess of violence in the screenplay it loses some of its effectiveness and comes back to the pack.
Mavis! (2015)
Follows the standard format for a documentary about the life and times of a musical performer(/activist). At only 80 minutes it may not do justice to some areas considering her lengthy career and because she worked with some other greats.
