Empire of the Sun (1987): Bale ruined this film – having said that the only thing worth watching in this overlong film are the terrific production values & even if someone had strangled Bale early on it would have still dragged – it took ages for it to find a finish.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Carol (2015): Cate belongs in the 1950's. The wardrobe and set designs are very good but I don't know why it took so long to tell the story.
Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict (2015): Peggy comes across as a bit batty but in a nice way and would have done well to survive among the art crowd if the interviewees were anything to go by. Some good archival film helps.; DVD $19.95
As You Like It (1936): I wouldn't know a good Shakespeare performance from a bad one but it is good that these stage like performances of the Bard are preserved for posterity.
We Are Your Friends (2015): There was nobody in the cast that arrested my attention and the characters weren't interesting and the same could be said for the music. Other than that it was okay.
Quickie, The (2002): Uneven and it promised more than it delivers.
Man from U.N.C.L.E., The (The Man From Uncle) (2015): It's as flat as a pancake and the characters don't work.
First Daughter (2004): Fluff and little else – a waste of time for most of us.
Buddy Holly and the Crickets - The Definitive Story (2005): A really good documentation of the group and its background from the Crickets themselves – the music is not bad either.
Criminal Activities (2015): With its limited use of the English language I think they saved money on script writers.
