Premature Burial (1962)
Classic suspenseful material handled well by Corman and his crew.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Its a very good plot idea but its delivery is too arty for its own good. You would expect better when you have the acting talents of Winslet, Wilkinson and Ruffalo at your disposal.
Max Payne (2008)
Had a couple of worthwhile scenes but overall its disappointing. I'm not a fan of slow motion at the best of times – its insulting to the viewer's intelligence – this one takes the cake in that regard.
One Million Years B.C. (1966)
Even without the admirable special effects the story has a curiosity value plus I thought the set designs were great.
Playing It Cool (A Many Splintered Thing) (2014)
Lacks substance of any kind – material or casting. Frothy or fluffy or whatever.
I Come with the Rain (2008)
Love the title and the music pervades the film but in a positive way.Its not boring but then this moody film doesn't exactly hold the attention either.
Wolf Creek (2005)
The first third is worth watching for the photography of the locations. Jarratt is very good but it would have worked better if the mayhem had been more restrained – it might have been more suspenseful that way.
American Pie 3 (American Wedding) (2003)
It tries to offend those of us who appreciate good comedy and it succeeds.
Grimm Love (Rohtenburg) (2006)
A little bit better than most other cannibal films.
Elsa & Fred (Elsa and Fred) (2014)
Needless to say the acting is fine with both leads coasting through this one. Undemanding viewing.
