War Story (2014)
Not uplifting and not an easy watch – Keener carries the film well.
Firewall (2005)
Not particularly gripping.
Underdog (2007)
Okay but it lacks originality.
Clown (2014)
Has some refreshingly original elements to the plot.
Bandslam (2009)
The love sick male kid ruins it. Lisa Kudrow is fine.
High School Musical 2 (2007)
The kids are all shiny and the cast needed one or two with snotty noses. The tunes are forgettable or at least they can't be remembered. Dancing not bad.
Treasure Planet (2002)
Non stop action with some interesting characters.
Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944)
Van Johnson has more screen time than anyone – can't make up its mind whether its a war film or a romance (maybe there is no difference). Takes a while to get going but the air combat scenes are good.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)
Although the dance numbers are fine there is nothing memorable about the songs – you are not whistling one of the tunes afterward.
Candidate, The (1972)
A different approach gives this political campaign dramatisation more interest than one would expect. Redford is not too bad in this one. Peter Boyle the highlight.
