Liar Liar (1997)
I didn't think Carrey could get any worse than the Ace Ventura films but he topped them with this – an insult to any one that appreciates comedy. The star is for the other cast members.
Curse of Frankenstein, The (1957)
A classy horror that should remain watchable for many years to come.
I'm Not Harry Jenson (2009)
The main plot idea is very good but 100 minutes is a long time to maintain the suspense – in this case it may have been too ambitious.The sound track is very good.
Hector and the Search For Happiness (2014)- Yet another film that starts off with a dream sequence. Excellent support cast but after some good early scenes the plot goes off the rails.
A Long Way Down (2014)- Very good and interesting casting but not one of the writer's (Nick Hornby) best work.
Cadillac Records (2008)- Could be seen as an appetiser for those not familiar with blues or rock n' roll history.The padding in between the musical numbers is not too bad. The soundtrack is (obviously) excellent.
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006)- Has all the ingredients of the typical Halloween/kill teens movie but not much more.
Whispering Smith (1948)- Ladd is supported by a pretty useful cast led by a solid performance from Preston. The plot is nothing out of the ordinary though.
Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)- According to Maltin this was a long lost film. The early Technicolor is interesting. Has both suspense and comedic moments.
Torque (2003)- Its never ending noisy action filmed in rich colours.
