Poltergeist (1982)
It looks like a lot of hard work went into the impressive special effects.Despite the horror (very effective) the film doesn't take itself too seriously and is all the better for it.It may be a shade too long however.
Sundowners, The (1960)
I don't recall Mitchum looking so relaxed in a film. Deborah Kerr is excellent and Ustinov is Ustinov. Very enjoyable.
Trials of Muhammad Ali, The (2013)
Whilst some of the footage has been seen before its good to have it all in compilation form.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
The story and the characters are one dimensional and failed to hold one's attention. Not a patch on Charlotte Gainsbourg's performance in "Nymphomaniac".Based on the film I would not be interested in reading the book. Only highlight is the soundtrack.
15 Minutes (2001)
A mix of violence and comedy that works reasonably well. De Niro is fine but has to share centre stage with the Czech "nutter" Karel Roden & the Russian "nutter" Oleg Taktarov.
Frantic (1988)
Ford's performance is poor (he's out of his depth) and as he is in just about every scene he drags the film down.
Cowboys, The (1972)
Silly story with Bruce Dern the only highlight – Matt Clarke one of the better character actors hardly appears.
Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014)
From the first rate Pixar team – not one of their strongest but very worth while.
National Treasure (2004)
Nothing wrong with the plot idea but the film really didn't hold the attention for any length of time – maybe its because I'm not a Cage fan.
Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)
Good natured and harmless – the music is bland but there is a real highlight in the dance sequences shown during the end credits.
