Adoration (2008)
A well written screenplay but one that is not an easy one to follow. A second viewing for me will be of benefit.
Salute (2008)
Excellent athletics coverage, and if a bit light on the racism in Australia, it has worthwhile coverage of the civil rights situation in 60s USA.
Woody Guthrie - This Machine Kills Fascists (2005)
This documentary would have claims to be the definitive account of Guthrie's life.
Train, The (1964)- The early scenes in the railyards are outstanding. Although it doesn't get as good again there are still some excellent action segments to follow. In beautiful black and white.
Nobel Son (2007)
Heaven knows why they needed the talented Alan Rickman for this.
Better than Sex (2000)- It is about two people in bed.
World War II in Colour (TV Series) (World War 2 in Colour) (2009)
- Impressive research and collation of library film with a top narrative performance.

Bird (1988)- Very long but this is compensated for by some very good musical segments and production values.
Gone Baby Gone (2007)- Not a convincing screenplay but there is a very good final scene and some of the characters are interesting. The best performance is from Amy Ryan.
Third Man, The (1949)
- The screenplay is stodgy in parts, particularly in the first half, but every now and then there is a knockout scene. The final scene is a wonderful unforgettable anti–climax. The zither player works overtime to produce a unique soundtrack.
