Razorback (1983): It can hold its own with many others in the genre and there is the bonus of some beautiful photography.
Three Popular Films by Jean-Pierre Gorin (Poto and Cabengo, Routine Pleasures, My Crasy Life) (1980-1992): One of the twins grasping the hand of her mate when needing reassurance was a beautiful moment; It is a little bit long for the material and runs out of steam at times; An interesting format – good sharp end story telling.
Wendy (2019): The opening scenes were great but then the kid started yelling and destroyed a lot of the enjoyment of what followed. A real pity and bad judgment by the filmmakers.; DVD $29.95
Churchill (2017): We didn't need another film about Churchill or indeed one with Churchill in it but watched this out of respect for the hard working and talented Brian Cox. Miranda Richardson is a bonus.
Amazing Extraordinary Friends (TV Series) (2006): Series 1: Unashamedly unoriginal with the right level of silliness. Entertaining.
Originals, The (TV Series) (2013): The screenplay goes on for a lifetime, which is okay for the characters as they have more than one, but not for the rest of us.
Bomb Girls (TV Series) (2012): The period details – hairdos, etc – are well done – as are the set designs. The screenplay is at it best when the women are as an ensemble.
Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band (2019): Robertson fronting it might have been a mistake – an independent interviewer could have asked the right probing questions – well worth seeing though for the archival footage.
Lord Of War (2005): It will have been made with good intentions but misses the mark – not a waste of time but the voice over was a challenge and should have been undertaken by someone who can enunciate clearly.
Cold Blood (TV Mini-series) (2007): The casting is very good and it carries the screenplay through its less than convincing segments.
