D Train, The (2015)
The material was weak but it wasn't out of place.
Phantom Punch (2008)
Not great but as the cover says "Ving Rhames is Sonny Liston".
Pinocchio (2019)
Whilst it is easy to say that of necessity some of the performances were wooden there is still much to admire in its design and production. Benigni, although not required for much of it, is excellent.
Calm With Horses (The Shadow of Violence) (2019)
While the story is fine without being original the performances are what make it worthwhile and for me, Niamh Algar topped the lot with Ned Dennehy close behind.
Frighteners, The (1996)
The serviceable special effects are a major reason for the enjoyability of the film. Although it is probably a touch long for the material its "don't take me seriously" attitude stays the course.
Waterloo (1970)
Although it took a little while for the battle to get underway (we had to wait for Steiger to do his thing) the battle scenes were waiting for.
Daylight (1996)
Not bad for its type.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Two days later and I couldn't remember what this was about.
Red Cliff (The Battle of Red Cliff) (2008)
Although there is some excitement to the extent that some of the characters lose their heads the slow motion cinematography soothes things down again. Excellent work by the special effects team. Part II is a chance to see the things you missed in Part I.
Sixth Sense, The (1999)
The screenplay wasn't too bad with one creepy scene but I really couldn't take too much of the kid – don't know where they dug him up from.
