Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End (2007): I never tire of watching Geoffrey Rush but this is far too long and much is a repeat of what has been done before in the franchise.
Ong-Bak 3 (2009): The original was over violent and this is little better. The blood letting just gets silly.; DVD ~~$29.95~~ $19.95
Shirley (2020): I failed to get interested in the screenplay and its characters.; DVD $29.95
Lizzie (2018): Obviously the screenplay contains some speculation as to the events described but it is solid, well produced and performed.
Things of Life, The (Les Choses De La Vie) (1970): It is not a comedy. Elsewhere this is listed as a romance – don't be put off – it is better than that. Michel Piccoli is quality. The staging of the accident and the accident scene segment of the screenplay is superbly done.
Shipping News, The (2002): Didn't dislike it but for some reason, despite the quality casting and the shooting location, the screenplay lacked appeal.
Empire Records (1995): There is plenty of energy from the young cast – entertaining.
Benidorm (TV Series) (2007-2009): S1 The comedy had just the right amount of exaggeration to be both funny and recognisable.
Proxima (2019): The casting of Zélie Boulant as the vulnerable 8 year old daughter was spot on. The screenplay is all about mother and daughter with the space programme as a backdrop.; DVD $29.95
Tyrannosaur (2011): This sets the gold standard for romantic films.
