Jane Eyre (1996): This is my favourite adaptation. Jane is plain. Lowood is heartbreaking and Jane\'s triumph of spirit is really demonstrated in Zefferelli\'s film. John Hurt is mercurial and mysterious as he should be. Best wedding gown too!
