Daggard’s Film Reviews
About me: Filmmaker and actor. Fan of the western, sci fi and action adventure but student of all genre film.
6 Films have been rated or reviewed by Daggard.
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
- One of the most 'grown–up' fantasy films in a long time, Rian Johnson takes JJ's characters and actually challenges them, exploring – and deconstructing – their ideals, their failures, and ultimately, the sacrifices that make them heroes.
- Mission: Impossible - Fallout (Mission Impossible 6) (2018)
- An unequivocal roller–coaster. This is what action cinema is all about – a propulsive heart–stopper with real stunts, by real people. MI has never been better.
- Stray (2018)
- An experimental, slow–burn of an 'Art House' film that won't be for everyone, but for me ultimately became immersive and absorbing.
- DVD $29.95
- Us (Jordan Peele's Us) (2019)
- Another conspiracy–thriller masterpiece from Jordan Peele. More ambitious than Get Out, dipping into everything from duality to the savagery of human nature.
- Fist of Fury (1972)
- The dojo fight is still essential viewing for any kung fu fan. A true 70s chop socky cult classic.
- Justified - Season 1 (TV Series) (2010)
- Olyphant possesses the grit of Eastwood AND the screen presence of Wayne in this awesome Neo–Western. Bravo.
