Brilliant comedy. Wahlberg can be great at serious roles but shines in a comedic part as Ferrell's angry partner. Great fun–I have watched it several times.
One of the best ever 1980s movies AND end–of–the–world/disaster movies in–one. Great colours and lighting. The last 60 minutes play out in real–time and you are left guessing if the nuclear attack is real or not until the end. A personal favourite.
Deviates a bit from the true events it is based on. More drama than the comedy that the trailer portrays. Final minutes show horrific footage of recent KKK/neo–Nazi groups & violence (including the horrific mowing down of anti–racist protesters by a car).
Obsessive film documentary about the unlikeliest of all action movie stars. A surprising personality appears partway through it. Funny but it also becomes unexpectedly moving towards the end.
