Land of Plenty
Aroview: There's good intentions aplenty in dir. Wenders latest dramatic meditation on the state of post-9/11 America, set mainly around the terrorist-obsessed Diehl and aid-worker Williams, each walking wounded on the streets of Los Angeles.
Shot on DV and plastered with songs from Wenders usual jukebox, this briefly picks up after they witness a potentially real Arab terrorist being shot, but then slowly droops back into fantasy. Although rife with over-meaningful dialogue, this at least marks an improvement on recent efforts like THE END OF VIOLENCE.
