25th Hour
Aroview: Slowburning drama that revolves around the personal tensions of drug-dealer Edward Norton, whose 8-year prison term begins the next day.
Negotiating his last day of freedom with a round of farewells and an allhours hedonistic fling, Norton brings an impressive suppressed fearfulness to the role, as he winds down major friendships, business dealings and his defacto relationship. Also tapping into the bruised collective psyche of a post-9/11 NYC, dir. Lee amplifies the sense of dread and loathing with several satisfying subplots (and a couple of superfluous ones).

4 stars (Very Good) Monty's life has been a dream - lives with a beautiful woman, drives cool cars, gets into all the clubs, but financing this life is heroin and the Russian Mafia. He has 24 hours of freedom, before a 7-year prison term. Well acted & attention-grabbing. ~GenXGirl
4 stars (Very Good) Missing America. A Spike Lee Joint, Irish instead of Dagos. Puerto Rican girl. Honour. Trust. Dope. Post-9/11. Great script. Terse acting. Aced. Only understood by us natives, Sho Nuff. ~Cruella
