Aroview: Dir. Oxide Pang's solo followup to THE EYE is also a voyeuristically themed nerve-shredder, set around a young and rich photography student (Wong) who spontaneously photographs a gruesome car accident scene and develops an unhealthy obsession with death.
Eventually she even pays butchers to kill animals so she can 'capture' the moment of their demise, by which time it is obvious she is more than a little disturbed. With a visual precision and imagination that redeems its horrid subject-matter, this steadily evolves downwards into nightmare territory worthy of J.G. Ballard.
