Jacket, The
Aroview: Adding to a growing canon of mind-bending thrillers of distinction (see our 'Close Relatives' below), this certainly feels part of a distinct fantasy sub-genre, though it intrigues and rewards as much as it twists and teases.
Shell-shocked Gulf War soldier Adrien Brody returns home to find normal life never quite the same. Implicated in a murder he can't quite remember, the pieces of the puzzle only come together slowly after he is institutionalized and subjected to a radical, shock therapy that allows him to access the future. This strong premise meshes well with Brody's terrific performance, adding substantial weight to its emotional and moral subtext.
