Kiss of Life
Aroview: While an aid-worker (Mullan) cut adrift in wartorn Eastern Europe tries to make his way home to London, his waiting family seem lost in a limbo of postponed reunion, exacerbated when the wife (Dapkunaite) is killed in a car accident and never quite makes it to the afterlife.
An impressive, if rather airily unresolved, debut from dir. Young, this conjures something of an original mood from its melodramatic premise, supported by sturdy acting and a few thoughful speculations about the human condition.
