Aroview: Solid revival of the 'Man of Steel' franchise soars to new heights of conceptual daring and tour-de-force action, with newcomer Brandon Routh donning the cape as Clark Kent returns to his job at the 'Daily Planet' newspaper after a five-year absence, including a journey back to a devastated Krypton.
Reporter and former-heartthrob Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) has won a Pulitzer Prize for an article entitled 'Why the World Doesn't Need Superman', but she is soon proved wrong as Lex Luther (played with cool menace by Kevin Spacey) unleashes a new fiendish plot on the world using energy-disrupting crystals. While the main storyline provides plenty of awe-inspiring swoops, the undercurrents of poignant irony add a subtle new reading of the whole Superman mythology: Superman as the eternal outsider.

2 stars (Good Try) The flying bits are okay but the rest of the two and half hours don't rise to any great heights. ~Tubbs
