Aroview: Dir. Palmer continues his classic treatments of notable figures of modern ballet and classical music with a lengthy look at the extraordinary life of English dancer Margot Fonteyn, who with Rudolf Nureyev created the classic dance partnership of the 20th century.

As well as her artistic talents, Fonteyn is also known for her colourful life - she married a Panamanian ambassador, had numerous affairs, was exploited by in-laws and died an impoverished recluse. Palmer never skirts the darker details, which somehow enhance a thoroughly luminous portrait of an immensely gifted performer.
