Into the West (TV Mini-series)
Aroview: The tale of the settlement of the American West between 1820 and 1890 is laid out in sprawling confusing detail in this epic mini-series told from the perspectives of two families: white settlers and native Americans.
Although exec-produced by Steven Speilberg, this shows only average storytelling skills and is perhaps most interesting for its sweepingly inclusive view of native American history which makes DANCES WITH WOLVES look right-wing. Not bad as a time-filler - the excellent cast ensures enjoyment - but for the real oil see Ken Burns' THE WEST.

4 stars (Very Good) This series is superb, the time & effort spent obtaining accuracy in costume, script, culture, history and character both real and fictional is truly admirable. The actors learning the Lakota language shows true dedication. Wonderful. ~Anon
