Aroview: More flash and bang from blockbuster teamsters Jerry Bruckheimer and Tony Scott, here devising a series of brute action sequences around a sci-fi influenced police procedural, with Denzel Washington as a special agent utilising time travel technology to backtrack and apprehend a marauding terrorist (Cavaziel).
Investigating the violent bombing of a harbour ferry, Washington, with the assistance of FBI agent Val Kilmer, seize upon a satellite surveillance system that allows them to revisit four days in the past, soon throwing caution to the wind and sending a human volunteer back in time. Reveling in the high tech babble and urgency of the narrative’s against-the-clock thrill of events, Scott punches out his slickest, most energetic offering since ENEMY OF THE STATE, even pausing to contemplate the mistakes of Hurricane Katrina by relocating the film’s catastrophe to a disaster-ravaged New Orleans.

3 stars (Good Enough) Tony Scott is still using his unique style to tell a gripping story - again with frontman Washington - this time with some sci-fi elements and the investigation of a terrorist plot. Fast-paced as ever, Scott knows how to entertain. ~Tom H
