OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies

Aroview: Dusting off a little-known French spy spoof from the 1960's, this remake upgrades rather than updates the franchise, combining the Bond school of suave with the Inspector Cousteau-Austin Powers school of idiocy.

Apparently improving markedly on the ropey original, this wisely sticks to a place and time when the decor, the fashion, the cars, and the music were all, somehow...cooler. Despite a script that slightly underwhelms in the laugh department, Jean Dujardin cuts an absolute dash in his drain-pipe suit and has the comic timing to match.
