Aroview: A closely-observed, cogent indie drama about a teenager’s concealed pregnancy and the suspicious death of her baby.
The truth surrounding the 'miscarriage' unfolds in flashback via a video-taped confession before psychoanalyst Tilda Swinton, who is coping with complex pregnancy anxieties of her own. Shot on DV, this is unvarnished independent cinema, but it plays out with a refreshing lack of hysteria, and builds to a pivotal, climactic scene that is as powerful as anything in contemporary cinema.
