Aroview: Quiet coming-of-age drama about the changing mateship between two boys - one black, one white - set in rural Australia in 1967, when indigenous Australians won status as citizens in their own land.
While class, race and privilege are stirred into the melting pot, this is chiefly concerned with poetic images and the power of the outback landscape, striking an elegiac note that’s moving in its human intimacy, but otherwise thin on social issues or context.
