Street Kings
Aroview: LA CONFIDENTIAL author James Ellroy and the writer of TRAINING DAY team up for this ultra-macho, ultra-violent LAPD-centric thriller focused on a senior cop (Reeves) disillusioned with life and the seedy side of the force after the recent death of his wife and suspicions he was involved in the death of a fellow officer.
The clichéd tough-talkin’ dialogue and run-of-the-mill crooked cop storyline will test the tolerance levels of some, but others will find this cinematic equivalent of a halfway-decent crime novel delivers an entertainingly grimy, if somewhat cynically dated, take on the morally bankrupt side of the thin blue line.

2 stars (Good Try) Not as good as either LA Confidential or Training Day, but fans of the genre may find something they like if they can get past Keanu's take on the tough-guy cop. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) There is violence but nothing of any value. ~Tubbs
