Running On Empty
Aroview: A married couple, on the run for activist crimes in the 1960s, come to terms with their childrens' right to be free.
A moving story, handled with great sensitivity by veteran director Lumet, and possibly the defining moment in the short career of River Phoenix.

5 stars (Exceptional) Easily one of the most poignant and edifying films of the 80's about the blessings and burdens of family life. River Phoenix gives an Oscar nominated performance making Running on Empty in my top ten favourite films of all time. ~Anon
3 stars (Good Enough) Although the story doesn't quite last the distance the acting of the female leads in particular is worth the watch. ~Tubbs
