Shifty
Aroview: Twitchy character study of of friendship and life on the edge follows reformed bad boy Mays as he accompanies his cocaine dealing mate on his rounds.
Shot on a micro budget this is a refreshingly grounded riff on the Brit drug movie with the business of dealing and bearing arms distinctly de-glamourised, and first time writer-director Creevy's decision to make his lead character a young British Muslim lends the film a topicality that sets it apart from the pack.

4 stars (Very Good) Though conventional, even in it's lo-fi "grittiness", Shifty has us invest in the characters (to the point I was yelling at them on-screen), and as such, had me hanging on the plot with baited breath. A worthy addition to the street-thriller genre. ~fairbrother

3 stars (Good Enough) Its anti-drug message is enhanced because the characters are believable and there are no frills in the screenplay. Daniel Mays is compulsory viewing. The soundtrack is pretty good as well. ~Tubbs
