Aroview: A richly photographed, Nouvelle Vague-styled homage to the revolutionary spirit of protesters in 1968 Paris, dir. Garrel offers a lucid, at times hypnotic version of events crowned by a stunning half-hour recreation of the infamous student riots.
Something of a reaction to THE DREAMERS, this also stars Garrel's son Louis, though captures a sense of disillusionment and urgency that Bertolucci's movie rather wantonly overlooked in favour of excessive film-referencing and dirty sex.
