Disappearance of Alice Creed, The
Aroview: Nominally another addition to the flavorless torture genre, this ransom drama centred on the abduction of a millionaire's daughter by two would-be kidnappers is an excellent exercise in tension building and resourceful filmmaking.
Confined primarily to the interior of an apartment, dir. Blakeson indulges in some of the cruelties that have become standard issue in recent times, however handles the plot twists, reversals, and interaction between the three actors with a level of control more typical of a stageplay than a chamber piece horror. If not sustained all the way to the film’s end, a tense and riveting watch.

5 stars (Exceptional) A clever little movie. Wonderfully unpredictable with split second twists and timing that has you sitting on the edge of your seat again and again... It deserved wider cinema viewing than it got. ~Rhonwen
1 star (Turkey) watched in the cinema. tasteless, primitive and 'thrilling', far from real art. I love him, he loves me, I need money blah-blah-blah. left halfway through and no regrets. ~offenmeier
