Aroview: A-grade western set in the lawless town of Warlock where the citizens hire a notorious gunman to keep the peace who brings with him his own set of problems.
Splendid adaptation of Oakley Hall's great novel understandably jettisons a number of key sub-plots and plays up the homo-erotic nature of Fonda and Quinn's relationship, but Dmytryk carries over the novel's sour take on morality expertly.

2 stars (Good Try) Its an intelligent screenplay but it drags toward the end and would benefit from losing about 20 minutes. Widmark and Fonda are the pick of a fine cast. ~Tubbs
