Synopsis: Vintage social realist crime caper from Ken Loach and screenwriter Paul Laverty, about a group of roughnecks who scheme to liberate a barrel of rare single malt from its distillery and sell it for a tidy profit.
“There is politics underlying every aspect of this funny, warm-hearted, deftly plotted film, and we fervently wish for the caper planned by this endearing quartet to succeed.”~Observer

4 stars (Very Good) ~WendyB
4 stars (Very Good) The screenplay is less structured during its second half & although it does not have the strength of the early scenes the effect overall is still of hard punching Glasgow realism coupled with delightful working class wit. ~Tubbs
Bonus (Region 2) copy of the film added as second disc. This version has english subtitles available for those who struggle with the Glaswegian dialect.
