Mercy, The
“Thanks equally to the restrained, yet inquisitive approach of director James Marsh, and the rich performance smarts of Firth, the movie's warning against making a choice that could prove impossible to live with is hauntingly, unforgettably worthwhile.”~Leigh Paatsch, Herald Sun (Australia)
Aroview: James Marsh (MAN ON WIRE) directs this biographical drama telling the almost unbelievable story of amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst, who attempted to circumnavigate the globe in a yacht in 1968, but almost everything that could go wrong did. It's heart wrenching viewing, but the story of this ambitious, restless figure caught between shame and death is treated with dignity and insight. Donald Crowhurst is also the subject of the 2006 documentary DEEP WATER.
